All India Radio is the only audio station to have broadcasting rights in India for live commentary of the games and events at the Olympics. It will also air live the opening and closing ceremonies of the games. Besides, it has been allowed to broadcast live football and hockey games. Private Indian TV channels, however, face strict restrictions on coverage.
