Ram explains delays

Former editor in chief of the Hindu N Ram has responded to Sten Lindstrom’s assertion that the Hindu published the Bofors documents including Martin Arbo’s notes and diary months after they had them. He says the former Swedish police chief was not willing to give all the documents in one go. Also some of the documents had to be translated accurately from Swedish, due diligence had to be done, and connections made about the semi-coded diary entries.

Without restraint

Not sufficiently eyeball grabbing

The Indian media, print, television and social, seem to think nothing much of the Rs 1,400 cr scam of siphoning off public money in building statues and parks during the Mayavati regime, uncovered by the Lok Ayukt, Uttar Pradesh. IPL, with the ball-by-ball coverage of leaked information by police seems to be of far greater consequence. Even in alleged scams, Mayawati is less newsworthy than cricket players, Bollywood stars and bookies. How so?
